The Sinister Horror Film Festival is pleased to announce the Official Selection for the categories of Screenwriting (Feature and Short) and Photography for its 2025 edition.
These categories highlight creators working in two essential areas of the horror genre: the written foundations that shape a story, and the still images that capture atmosphere and intention in a single moment. This year’s submissions reflected a wide range of approaches and creative perspectives, offering an interesting look at how horror continues to evolve across formats and styles.
The selected screenplays include works that explore different narrative structures, themes, and tonal expressions within the genre—ranging from psychological tension to supernatural concepts, character-driven stories, and experimental ideas.
In the Photography category, the selected images present varied interpretations of horror through composition, mood, and visual storytelling.
All selected works in these categories will now move into the competition phase, where they will be evaluated by the festival’s jury. The winners will be announced during the Sinister Horror Film Festival 2025, held on December 13–14 at Cinemanía Plaza Loreto in Mexico City and through the festival’s online platform.
